2023 Housatonic Boat Club Fun Race Series

 

The HBC Race Committee is hosting a “fun race” series to provide newcomers and less experienced sailors with the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience with sailboat racing in a relaxed day on the water.  Experienced sailors wanting to have a fun day on the water are also welcome. 

 

The course will be Windward\Leeward or around government marks in the vicinity approximately 2 nm Southeast of the Housatonic River Breakwater, with a skippers meeting prior to each race.

 

There is no registration fee and no trophies will be awarded. 

 

All boats planning to participate in each event need to fill out the Fun Race Entry Form attached to the Fun Race Sailing Instructions.  This is needed as a courtesy to the Race Committee and other participants so that volunteers and other participants do not show up for a race with insufficient participation.  A minimum of two responses per event is needed for the event to be held.  A list of registered participants will be sent out after 1700 on the Friday before the event. 

 

RC boats and volunteers are needed for the races.
